I have an M1 Mac Mini with 16Gb memory and when I scrub the timeline in fcp, it fails to render the wave forms until I stop playback. Then it ’catches up’ and draws them in.

I am unsure if this is a software shortcoming or a lack of power from the M1.

Do any studio owners know if this is a solved problem in FCP with the Mac Studio?

So Calif
I had a similar setup (M1 Mini) then just traded her in for the base Mac Studio over the weekend.

I'll let you know when I test out FCP which I just downloaded.

Is this the version you have?

lol, no, even with the m1 ultra it still can't render waveforms without delay.
Thanks for that. Just saved me a load of time and hassle as that would be one of my primary reasons to upgrade.
Suppose the good news is that it’s probably only a software limitation. Wonder if Premiere/DaVinci suffers the same?
