I can't seem to find a concrete answer nor solution to this question.

So I figured I had ask (March 2019) so that everyone later can have a clear answer.

My laptop's specification:

- MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017)

- 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7

- 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3

- Radeon Pro 560 4096 MB

Can it drive displays beyond 1080p/1440p 144hz, and how?

What cable are you using to connect to the monitor?? does it support 144hz refresh rate?? You may have to use a display port cable with a usb c connection. You can also use switchresx software to change refresh rates
On your Mac. Do remember that if you are using this for gaming without v sync it may cause tearing.
