A friend of mine was showing his new Google Pixel 9 XL and he was able to use voice commands to pause or stop music that is playing, videos that are playing, etc. When I'm doing the same things on my iPhone XR it doesn't hear me so I have to physically touch the screen to stop anything that is playing before it will understand me. I'm disabled so this is kind of a big deal to me. I've always wanted my phone to work like Alexa devices which can hear you no matter what it's playing so you have complete control over the device by voice. The Google Pixel 9 XL seems to have that capably. Can newer iPhones (the 15 and 16) do this? Someone suggested maybe my iPhone is just too old but I need somebody with a newer iPhone to test this to know for sure.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
