I am trying to connect my first generation ATV to my Macbook Pro. I just did a factory reset on the ATV and my network shows up on the ATV though it will not accept my password. I am running Snow Leopard and all I want to do is synch some photos to the ATV. I do not see the ATV show up in iTunes either. I turned off my firewall and turned on Home Sharing in iTunes.

What do I need to do?

Thanks!

If it's not accepting your network password it's most likely because you have the wrong one. Your local wifi is hopefully secured with a password, which you have to give to any device that wants to join your wifi network. Worst case, you can reset your router and it will go to a default setting. Just make sure you enable a password for security.

If you are saying that you've already joined the wifi and the ATV isn't accepting your iTunes password, then I'd follow Apple's instructions on recovering a lost password. Or, reset it.
