Ok so bought a new imac monday os sierra 10.12.4 and having problems connecting to wifi i will post a few photos to tell you whats wrong
As you can see the network window there is no wifi on the left hand side
clicking the + brings up a window 'thunderbolt bridge'
clicking 'other wifi devices in airport is coming up blank
network diagnostics is also unclickable so to speak

If anyone can help me here it would be a blessing, by the way the wifi hib and provider is working great because ive got wifi on my other devices just fine

Which iMac? 10.12.4 doesn't run on the new 2017 iMacs. Also, which WiFi router?

Did you do a Migration Assistant transfer? That can cause various issues. A clean install would be a safer bet for troubleshooting. Or even a re-install of the OS through recovery mode (which would keep your data but fix any OS issues). Do a full backup first though of course.

It's brand new?
Who did you buy it from?
A place nearby?
Either take it back, or take it to an Apple Store genius bar…
