Can not import photos from iPhone 3GS

Hello everybody.

I am using Mac OS X 10.5.8. My iPhone 3GS got iPhone OS 3.0.1.

I can not import photos from my iPhone using Image Capture 4.0 nor iPhoto 8.1.

When using Image Capture 4.0 it freezes. So I can import only a few photos or videos. Sometimes it freezes earlier, some later. Screenshot attached.


When using iPhoto 8.1 the problem is that there is no iPhone 3GS on Devices section.

I will try on a Windows machine later.

Someone can help me, please?

I could import all my iPhone 3GS photos and videos on a Windows 7 virtual machine on the same fisical machine.

I do not want to use Windows each time I need to import my iPhone photos and videos.

Any ideas on how to solve the issue?
