I have installed beta 4 for a couple of days and it still shows "Download" in my account in app store. And Software Update does not show up the beta 5 upgrade. Any suggestions?

unfortunately i always got beta 4 from the public beta website even after leaving the program and re-joining. frustrating! ;-(

And where does one retrieve their PB5 install file? I have looked high and low and cannot find it anywhere.
Everybody else always gets beta 4, too, because Apple has not uploaded a full installer version of PB5 to the App Store. If you download Yosemite from the App Store, you will get PB4 for now and then will be required to install the update to PB5 via Software Update after that.
If it isn't showing up in your Software Update list, you can download the update package for PB4-to-PB5 yourself directly from Apple's servers. I won't give you the URL (which may be against the forum rules anyway), but if you are legitimately part of the beta program and have PB4 installed, you can find the URL yourself.
Open up a Terminal, and enter this command:
defaults read /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate CatalogURL
This will return a URL. Copy-and-paste that URL from Terminal into Safari.
A large XML document will be displayed. Search (Cmd-F) for 031-09040 (the catalog number for the Yosemite PB5 update).
You should see <key>031-09040</key> and a handful of URLs below that, each between <string></string>. Find the one that ends in "OSXUpd10.10.pkg" and copy and paste that address into Safari (leaving off the <string> at the beginning and the </string> at the end, of course).
Your download will start. Once it is finished, run the OSXUpd10.10.pkg file that you find in your Downloads folder to install the update.

However when trying to install the package, it gets to the select disk stage and then logs me out of the system.
I have tried to download the update directly from the App Store and the same thing happens, I keep getting logged out

Thanks for your help but this where I get hung up. After running that Command, Terminal bounces back with the following error:
The domain/default pair of (/Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate, CatalogURL) does not exist
I redeemed my OS X Yosemite Public Beta code when it became available in July. I downloaded a full installer from the App Store, put it on a thumb drive, installed fresh and restored my data from Time Machine (10.9.5).
Any ideas how to proceed? I'm thinking my issue might then not receiving PB5, but it seems I cannot receive updates at all.
Which is strange because I got app updates and an iTunes update after PB5 was released.EDIT: Fixed it. I ran the command on my Mac Pro (which I did an over-the-top upgrade from 10.9.5 to PB4 and it updated via the App Store with no problem to PB5) and got the URL needed. Pasted it on my rMBP and downloaded the update package. Ran with no issues, currently on 14A386b (PB5).
I think I fixed the problem with the update server. I copied the com.apple.SoftwareUpdate from the Mac Pro and replaced the file with that one on my rMBP. After doing so and rebooting, Terminal now reports the correct URL for the Update server. We'll see when the next update comes if this fixed it or not.

unfortunately I cannot tell you nor post the link as I was already spoken to once but the mods for trying to help someone. I guess censorship's a virus that even penetrates the mac community. Was let down a bit to find out.

This could be the result of your Mac being infected with the I-Worm trojan. Have a look at this article to check:

Thanks bro! I actually had the iWorm on my mac, I deleted the folder but apparently there could be several folders as I just read that haven't been discovered yet. But i deleted the JavaW folder now, think i will do a clean install of Yosemite when it's released now. Does anyone know how this will affect my TimeMachine backups?
Is there any reason to primarily suppose that an Apple softwareupdate or App Store issue may be caused by that malware?

If the backup includes any file that's associated with malware, and if you wish to remove that file from the backup, then you'll need an approach that properly handles the ACLs etc. in that context. Some of the simpler malware removal solutions might lack those capabilities.
Yes as the worm adds the apple update servers to your host file pointing at ip address 127.0.0.1 thus disabling the update servers!

Was able to upgrade from beta 4 to 5 with
sudo softwareupdate --clear-catalog
softwareupdate -da
and then install by hand.
This time I can not upgrade from 5 to 6.
I noticed that in "App Store" I can not see the enabled "your computer is ... pre-release Software Update seeds" anymore.

Make sure you have the latest Protect update from Apple. It will help prevent infection of the worm.
*** General word to all: Don't download and install pirated software, as this is the usual culprit.
What I did was a complete clean install using the Command/R key, erased the OS X Yosemite, and reinstalled Yosemite. I had PB 6 on the system, and thought I was installing PB6, but not so....I went to the App Store to find Yosemite Update, and it showed me PB 5 to download only, Not PB 6. After installing PB 5 I returned to the Update site again, ran it, and it came up with PB 6 to download. Did so.
