Hello, I have an iPhone 6 and I updated it to iOS 8.4.1 a while ago. I didn't have any problem with it at first until I had to do a factory reset and then restore. The restore went great, but when I tried to put my music back on my phone via iTunes (version 12.2.2.25) on my Macbook Air I could not get a single song to sync onto my phone. Simply clicking and dragging a song over to my phone doesn't appear to work anymore. I have found that songs that I have purchased via iTunes in the past can be downloaded directly on my phone via wifi, but with over 700 songs, really slow internet, and the fact that easily over half of my songs were ripped from CD's that my Dad owns makes this method virtually useless.

I am beyond frustrated and have no idea if the issue is with my Macbook, iPhone, iOS version or maybe even iTunes. Any help is appreciated as my phone has tons of space and no music thanks to this annoying issue. Thanks.

if i understand your question , if you have "iCloud music library" turned on in the iPhone , it means you can't sync from itunes and music has to be downloaded from iCloud

if you want to sync music from iTunes to the phone , you must turn off "iCloud music library"

this might be also because you joined apple music???

"iCloud music library" used to be called "iTunes match"

if "iCloud music library" and "apple music" are both turned off. and you still can't sync, thats a puzzle.

i never "drag songs to my iPhone' i usually just click on the music tab on the iPhone in iTunes and
check what i want to sync to it, and then click sync

Thanks, I just checked and I had iCloud music library enabled on my phone. I just disabled it and songs are now syncing once again! :) I think Apple's recent music overhaul has had me confused with all the new changes. It's been a learning curve for sure. Thanks so much!
