This morning I discovered I can only open Google websites (Gmail, News Search, etc.). All other websites "stall" and error message arrives "Safari cannot make a connection to the server etc."

Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated as I am homebound and my Mac is everything to me and my best contact with the rest of the world that I seldom see.

Many Thanks,
Ed

I don't think I've ever seen that one! No other devices connected to your home network (to compare)?

It is possible that DNS isn't working properly. The setting on your Mac is at System Preferences>Network>Advanced>DNS. If the DNS setting is your router's local IP then the actual DNS setting that your Mac is using is on your router.
