Hi everyone,
I would like your opinion
Every night I charge my iPhone on the nightstand. Yesterday I fell asleep and left YouTube open. The morning I woke up and the iPhone had a very high temperature and charging had stopped at 86%.(I suppose that built in software protect it).Could such a high temperature have damaged my battery or caused it to swell?

Thanks

Yes, it can (but not in your case)

Every iPhone has protection from high/low environment temp, you'll receive a warning on your iPhone (and it will be unavailable until normal temp)

Oh yeah I believe this. That’s why when mine overheats for no reason even if it’s in my pocket I panic.
Unless you have a faulty device, nothing overheats for no reason. Please be more detailed... Even weak signal strength can make a device overheat.
