Hey,
I am using the default macos email client with my @me.com email address. Receiving emails works just fine but sending them doesn't work at all. It literally stopped over night and it has been months like this and I can't figure out why. I haven't changed any settings and when I check the SMTP server list it's empty.
Here is the error message I am getting when sending an email:

Can anyone help me with this as it's really frustrating ? Outgoing SMTP server list is empty, but sending with gmail and co just works fine. Wonder if I suddenly need to add some settings or what is going on.
Thanks a lot for your help!

No one? If I remove the iCloud account and add it again I will lose all my files and have to wait until they are downloaded from the cloud again? Can't think of another solution.

I'm not actively using iCloud Mail but it looks to me like the outgoing iCloud Mail server is in fact your email address?
Usually the iCloud Mail settings are set up automatically but for 3rd party apps the outgoing SMTP server is smtp.mail.me.com
You could try to manually create a new server profile named "iCloud" with this server and select it in your existing iCloud mail account...
I am not 100% sure what happens if you simply toggle "iCloud Mail" in your Mac's iCloud settings off and on again.
But by using IMAP, there shouldn't be any loss whatsoever.

Oddly enough when I add a custom outgoing (icloud settings) server, it still won't work. Any other ideas? Not the biggest fan of toggling icloud mail on/off.
