Can anyone advise if I reinstall my macbook, will system storage size change? Thanks!

I agree. A reinstall will usually give you some extra free space that you might not have had before. the reinstall.
But, assuming that the partition format is correct, the storage size (total available space determined by the manufacturer) cannot change.

It might change a little, yes.
Thanks. My system storage is 46G now. I tried other ways like deleting the snapshots, but didn't work for me, because no snapshots were listed.

I am planning to reinstall the system to see if tis can redu ce the system storage dramatically, but what do you mean "might change a little"? What is the normal size of the system today?

Thanks a lot!

It's hard to say what it will look like. How many apps do you have installed? What kind of apps and how much storage is being gobbled up by the data associated with those apps? Reinstalling the OS will not make a significant difference if you install the same set of apps and data. Rather than going through the exercise of wiping and reinstalling the OS and your apps, I'd suggest getting an app like OmniDiskSweeper and understanding where your storage is being used... and then do what you need to do to reduce your used storage. Get an external drive and offload large files - photos, music and movies that you don't use regularly...

Thank you. I'll try OmniDiskSweeper first. Have a great day!

It will change like a few hundred mb to a GB so there won't be too much change into the hard drive it self so you are safe.
