Hi just got my new iPhone 17 and noticed that I can see the internal screen with light inside the top speaker when looking down from the top of the phone. Is this normal or defect? How is it dust and water protective if there is a gap? To test this you need to be in a pitch black room with brightness set to maximum. Also make sure to take your phone case off. And then you need to slowly looking downward angle from the top of your iPhone around the front top speaker area. Can anybody else confirmed this please…

Oh boy. Don't do this. It's always a bad idea to go looking for problems. Just enjoy your new iPhone. I promise–if you go looking for problems, you'll find them. Not just with your phone, but with everything in life. Be happy.
how can we supposed to be with ok with this kinda thing and just to accept it as what it is? literally pay real money to get this thing and it is not cheap... of course we need to check it condition for it to be perfect as the price

So to reproduce this "issue" you need to be:
  • In an absolutely pitch black dark room
  • With full brightness
  • With no case on
  • Looking in an extremely specific direction very slowly
Basically all the things that your average user wouldn't be doing with their iPhone 17. Plus, it's a speaker grille, obviously there has to be a gap otherwise sound won't come out, it doesn't mean it affects the water and dust resistance, it's almost like the engineers might have thought of that....

Is this satire?

Return it to Apple and advise them of the issue. Get your refund.
It’s best way to get your voice heard.
Also post on Apple Support.

I think it's only the reflection of the corner roundness of the display (comparable to the border of screen protector films).
Nothing to worry about.

Here you can see a comparison between 17 and 17 Pro (when using a case you cannot see it anymore).
