Can snow leppard os be installed on a pc laptop

I'm going to ask a silly question now but can i install mac os on a hp laptop with a duo core processor. I'm sick to death of windows vista on it taking nearly 4 mins to load

Snow Leopard can be installed on a small number of laptops such as the Dell Mini 9 and seems to run fairly well. (albeit have questionable legality)

It's a kind of a dicey deal, and can't be loaded onto just any PC, but look up "Hackintosh" here on MR and see if any of the situations described fit you. Putting OSX on a PC is possible, but you'd better be a computer "enthusiast" because is sure ain't plug n' play.

Also be aware that putting OSX on non-Apple hardware violates the EULA. The Apple goon squad may come to your house (you can tell them because they're dressed as Pixar characters).

thanks for the replies guys. I've installed windows 7 via bootcamp on my Imac and have to say not impressed when comparing to Snow Leopard. Superfast laughable really. Def improvement on windows vista but wanted to move away from windows. And convert my laptop into a mac on the cheap as having spent lots on the 27inch i5 imac i can;t afford to spend hundreds on a macbook

IMO, you've only two choices.

Get a Macbook, or stick with Windows.

Also, Windows 7 was never meant as an OS X replacement. It was a replacement for Vista. The experience between Windows 7 and OS X is entirely different between the two.

I'm not going to recommend the Hackintosh method because it is truly a hack...you will certainly end up dealing with more than you ever bargained for. Looking on the Dell Mini forums will show you some of the hurdles they have to go through to get OS X running on their Dells. You're also going to be seriously limited on what hardware you can use...OS X SL tends to run well on the Dell Minis...you may not have a good experience on other brands.

if you want something that just works get a second-hand macbook if you can't afford a new one..... on the other hand if you like to tinker and want to learn about your h/w, OSX and all sorts of other stuff you may well want to give a hack a go.

Post your FULL hardware list and we can go from there.... That is extremely important. With enough patience, it can be done...

Legally no. Can it be done yes with at lot of work and or luck.
