Currently the only calendar notifications appearing are those happening on the day of using the native calendar app. Also, I use pocket informant and I'm not able to get any notifications on the notification screen at all.

Can someone clear this up for me? Is this how the native calendar app supposed to work? Anyone have experience with pocket informant?

In the native Calendar app you can set when you want to receive a reminder under the Alert setting.

When I use an app, the first thing I do is to look at all the settings options to see what they do.

Where is the alert setting?

Personally I'd like a notification to show up in the center when there is an event on an actual day, not just when I set an alarm.

----------

The alert setting is definitely not the option for me. If I have an event in a day or 2, I'd like it to show up in the notification centre. Is it supposed to be like this or only show up as a notification on the day of?

AFAIK only Apple app like Calendar and Reminder can show in notification center on the day of event. 3rd-party app can only fire notification (alert/banner, notification center, sound, badge, ...) at a specific time set by the app itself

I think app developer can create 2 notifications for a single task/todo, one fire at the day of event and other at alarm time. But it will still end up with 2 separate notification in notification center, not 1 like Calender, Reminder app.

sorry for my english

Calendar shows a day or 2 in advance. The have done all the way from beta to release. Go into notifications in settings and make sure it's on for notification centre and lock screen.

How are the calendar notifications supposed to work?

Under settings->notifications->Calendar

"Notification Center" - this setting controls whether the current day's events show up when you swipe down the notification center.

"View in Lock Screen" - this setting controls with the event reminder alarms and new invitation alerts show up on the lock screen.

There's no way to have the calendar show the current day's events on the lock screen.

Apple really needs to add more configuration settings for this. Having events appear in notification center with no option of how far in advance they can appear is poor.

At least they should give us a few options like 1 day in advance, 2 days prior, 3 days prior, 1 week prior. Instead of defaulting to "in the next 24 hours".

Very difficult to use for business with only 24 hours notice. Often I need to know 2-3 days in advance. Sure I can go into the Calendar and see it, but Notification Center would be far more useful if I could quickly see it there too.

Try settings for alerts in the app itself.

I can set that but I still don't see them appear ion notification center.

Basically I want to set an alert in the app (let's say 1 day before).
But in notification center I want to see it 2-3 days before.

At present, you can't.

Anyone else not getting badges on the app icon when there is an appt?

The built-in calendar app icon? It never had a badge. Only shows a badge when you have an invitation waiting.

Week Cal is an app that will show a badge indicating the number of remaining scheduled events that day.
