Has Apple completely abandoned the Qualcomm modems starting this year or is in the future?

Nope, Verizon/Sprint still uses Qualcomm. It's pretty obvious when you look at the tech page. in * that the AT&T/T-Mobile will not work on Verizon or Sprint or any CDMA.

What is the likelihood that the Intel will be on par with Qualcomm for the new phones?

I want to switch carriers (T-Mo to AT&T) and am thinking about taking advantage of B1G1. Don't want to though if the Intel will be inferior again.

thanks

I love how this thread morphed. :)

Intel modem will be here to stay...provided Apple gets them cheaper than the Qualcomm.
