iwork was so suppose to be preinstalled onto my computer. I go to applications and I see a folder titled iwork 09. It’s just a blue empty folder. I put in the iwork disc to try to install, but the installation fails. When I do a software update to update the computer itself it stops when it get to iwork, and won’t continue with the software update. Anyone know what’s wrong?

Try dragging the iWork folder to your desktop and then try to install iWork again.

I did what you said. I drag the folder itself to the dashboard. iwork shows up there now, but nothing in it works. When I software update the mac it get's stuck on expanding and verifying iwork update 5. After that an error pops up. Is there a way to remove all traces of iwork, and then just reinstall from the desk?

I thought it was iwork, but it's not letting me update software for anything. Not even itunes.

when you ask for items to be preinstalled they come on your restore disks as well. load in the disks that came with the imac and boot from the dvds and do a restore.
