Thank you very much for the help folks.
I thought there was jailbreak tools realeased for 3.0 betas.
Not from the Dev team but thru others.
Well, there is a jailbreak, it's just not as reliable or official, but anyways, jailbreak isn't what I am asking, all I am asking is how do I access the root files in OS3. I see post on other forums, but people aren't replying. If they can't enter the root/system files , how are they enabling the battery percentage toggles. I have the files to enable the battery percentage, I just need to know how to access the iphone system.
Oh my goodness. Like we've said before. That's called JAILBREAKING.
Jailbreaking = making the root filesystem accessible.
You cannot see the rootfs without jailbreaking.
Got it?
the percentage indicators are left there from when they had their 1.x or 2.x phone jailbroken. upgrading to 3.0 left them there.Well, there is a jailbreak, it's just not as reliable or official, but anyways, jailbreak isn't what I am asking, all I am asking is how do I access the root files in OS3. this will work, but seems like a lot of trouble to go through just to get a percentage indicator.so to confrim this, I'm downgrade to 2.2.1, jailbreak and ssh it, then access the root, tweak my iphone, and then do a upgrade to 3.0 beta 5.
