not difficult and would have some takers i think.

This is something that Apple needs to address, as well as the lack of forwarding.

A simple "Save as draft" option would do the job.

It definitely would, and I would be one.

I miss having some preset responses, and also the option to "answer" a phone call with a text when you can't talk. I used that a LOT on my Treo.

Ah, well...

Actually, this one is doable. Developers are given full access to the user's contacts, and you can send an SMS by just sending an email. You wouldn't be able to do anything with received SMS's, unfortunately, and you wouldn't get the snazzy conversation tree like you get with the official SMS app, but a person could write a fully-featured SMS sender.

Anyone know if its possible to ssh into a jail broken iphone and send an SMS ?

I'd just like to use my PC keyboard when Im at home and get a text message.
