Can someone Please Help me with getting into my MacBook?

I bought a new MacBook Pro 16" from a guy on offer up and he had it all back to the factory settings main page so I signed in and set up Mac for myself but then when I got home I decided to restore it one more time just to re enter passwords and add Siri and stuff like that. So I restarted and held Command + R and erased the drive but then the computer restarted before I was able to do anything else and now its asking for his Apple ID and he's not responding to me Can someone help me get past this so I can restore my Mac again?

Google for checkm8 they can help you out.

You may be able to use checkra1n to achieve it for free but that’s uncodumented as far as I know.

Thank you. I ended up finally getting him to meet me. But it’s still not resolved yet. I need to reinstall everything and then meet him 1 more time to remove iCloud lock. Thanks for the help though. What do you mean about treading a thin line? Is this the wrong category or something for my post?

I think he means that the software checkm8 is (sometimes) used to hack into stolen macbooks - an idea not consistent with macrumors philosophy.

He should be able to remove the iCloud lock from your MacBook by using one of his existing Apple devices?

I‘ve only erased newer/T2 Macs a few times, but I always thought there was an option to completely erase the SSD and set up as new via Recovery.
