Can Someone remove the fuzz from this?

Just edited this picture, to make a background for my iMac.

I've used the colour replacement tool, and dragged the image to the other side of the page, and flipped it horiztonally.

Around the head, especially to the right, theres a lot of 'fuzz' or static.

Can someone remove this please? I love the end result and really wanna use it as a wallpaper... I would be forever in your debt. :)

You have some fuzz/static in all areas of the hair - bottom left as well. I don't have time today to fix this for you - maybe someone else will. The other option is that you buck up and do it yourself with some small feathered brushes. A Wacom tablet is especially helpful for jobs like this.

Could you recommend a good tablet? I've been thinking about getting one for quite a while now.

If you're just learning and want something to mess around with an inexpensive tablet I would suggest a Wacom Graphire. They even have a bluetooth version now. The Graphire will give you 512 levels of pressure. A step up from the Graphire would be the Intuos3 line - these give you 1,024 levels of pressure. These both come with software that let you customize all kinds of things pressure sensitivity, tilt, etc. and save the preferences for specific programs. If you're into creating digital art, retouching, etc a Wacom tablet is indispensable. It takes awhile to get the hang of using it but once you getit you will never go back to a mouse.

I've just made another background now that I'm happier with, just an image I tinkered around with whilst waiting for your response.

Thanks again, I'll get a tablet this week. I have about £100 to spend, hope thats enough, unless I can get an Edu. discount somewhere.
 
That could easily (5 minutes) be touched up with the clone stamp, healing brush, and blur tool.

I'd do it, but you'd learn more if you did. Practice those tools and you'll get it quickly.

Thanks for the tips. I've tried a rough job, literally 6 minutes, and it was my first time doing that sort of thing in 'detail'.

It looks a bit crappy to be honest, but I'm using a mouse instead of a graphic pen, so its not exactly easy to get right up close without smudging edges etc.

Not to sure what the 'healing brush' is - I used it and it just seemed to, like do a blend+smudge?

Anyway, below is the outcome. I really co*ked up the hair above the right shoulder, so I stamped it out, and now it looks terrible! :(

Also attached is another quick background I made, to make myself feel a little better. :)

Thanks, Beatsme. I'm in the UK and haven't heard of either of those companies, but I can see Amazon sell the Graphire4 for £80, for that I get a USB pad and wireless Pen.

I wanted the Bluetooth, but turns out its like £160 on the Apple Store :(
 
Whatever you do don't go with any other brand than Wacom. My office tried some cheaper products and they were all garbage.
