I'm sure I'm not the only owner of a 2015 27" 5k iMac who was drooling over the M1 Max specs only to see them abruptly end the keynote after presenting new MacBook Pros.
I mainly use my iMac for photo processing (Sony a7rIII files for now). I considered a mini for a short time but now am seriously considering a 14" MacBook Pro.
For $3100, I can get a 14" MacBook Pro with the M1 Max 10-core CPU and 24-core GPU and 32gb unified memory with 1TB SSD. In clamshell mode and connected to a nice full AdobeRGB 27" (or maybe even 30") monitor, won't this likely equal whatever an iMac Pro would feature?
Am I being dumb and would be better off waiting? Any concerns with powering two displays with this machine (I currently run the 5k iMac with a second 27" standard def screen).
The laptop would likely be tethered to the screens and OWC RAID array 80% of the time...
