Hi Everyone,

Quick question - can you use an Airport Extreme as an access point only ie. turn off all NAT etc (I have a linux firewall that takes care of all networking duties)

Thanks
Dan

Yes. That is configurable in the Airport Utility. I haven't done it specifically on an AEBS, but I have done it on my Airport Express at home, and have my router doing NAT in front of it.

Thanks for that, to be honest I may just stick to Expresses (Have 2 already) as I don't need airport disk - I have a Mac Mini server that takes all the time machine data.

I still may use an AEBS somewhere as the integrated gigabit switch could come in useful near my AV equipment where I have lots of Ethernet devices.

Cheers
Dan
