I can see that the service is running on the Apple TV using iNet but I can't seem to get my MacBook Pro to 'Wake on Wireless' when it's asleep and the Apple TV turns on.

Any thoughts?

Nope...you are going to need a Time Capsule or Airport Extreme Base Station
