Can the Iphone be used as a memory stick?

My first post, so hello to everyone!!

Basically I have standard windows files which I want to transfer on to my PS3(add-on's for a game). Now the instuctions for setting this up requires me to put these files onto a memory stick which can then just be plugged straight into my PS3.

As I don't have a memory stick, could I use my iPhone instead using the white wire I would use to plug it into my laptop?

I think my main question is is it at all possible to transfer the files from my laptop onto my iPhone?

In an ideal world someone will reply and say they have done this before and gie me a full set of instructions on how to do it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated?

it is possible to transfer files to the iphone over usb, using something such as this

but whether the ps3 can read it, i don't know. i doubt it

I don't use the app you linked, but I would think that as long as the PS3 has access to the sandbox on the iPhone then you can use it as a memory stick. I've used file aid and it stores stuff in a directory that I can access just by plugging it in to a computer.

ok, i only did a quick search and that app required a companion app on the computer

Yes, it requires Disk Aid. So?

So, you can't install Disk Aid on the PS3, not to mention other public/school/work computers to which you won't have the permissions to install programs. Even the idea of installing a companion program for USB file transfer is absurd.

The iPhone is woefully lacking in this department.

Uh, the guy was asking how to get stuff on his iPhone that could then be read on the PS3. File Aid/Disk Aid get the files onto the iPhone in a separate directory in the sandbox. Any computer can read those files, so I just threw that out there if the PS3 could read the sandbox. Diskaid does not need to be on the PS3.

No, it requires DiskAid to transfer files over the USB. The iPhone will not be recognized as a mass storage device on it's own.

I could've sworn that I've plugged my iPhone at work and seen the folder I created with File Aid/Disk Aid. I'll plug it into my other computer here at home later to see. If so, my point is if the PS3 can see those files like any other computer, then it could work. However, that's only if the PS3 can do that.

Edit: Yep, the files are available on my other computer.
