Dell has just release it's new super wide display, a 21:9 aspect monitor. It's 29inch, 2560 x 1080 resolution, 5ms response time, and white LED backlight

Retail is $699 but already seen it at 10% off

Does the mini support this resolution?

As connectivity, it features:
-> 4x USB 3.0 hub
-> VGA
-> DVI
-> 1x Display port IN
-> 1x Display port OUT
-> 1x mini Display Port IN
-> 1x HDMI

It definitely should.

Nice screen btw. I like its connectivity. My ACD just has 3 USB2.0 ports and meh… :rolleyes: Thank god I'm in love with the rest of it. :)

You likely wouldn't be able to run it straight HDMI, but DVI or DisplayPort should be doable.

"Super wide" display? My Dell is 2560 x 1440. They just cut off the bottom of the screen. "Super short" is more like it.

I'd never buy that. As someone already mentioned, they just took a 30" inch and cut the bottom off of it.

I have a 27-inch Dell that displays 2560 x 1440, the U2713HM.

Although it might be nicer to have a 30-inch version, so the text on the screen wouldn't be quite as tiny. I like having all the pixels, but reading the text can be tiring.

My Dell is 2560x1600, so they cut the bottom of that one and sold it as a brand new product. Then they cut the bottom of yours and sell it as a brand new product again.
Damn those people think of some crazy s***

I think yours was changed because it's a nonstandard aspect ratio. 2560 x 1440 is a 16:9 image, which is standard for video and video games and other stuff now. Yours is an 8:5 ratio, which is a little weird. But it's an even 4 megapixels, so that might be how they came up with it.

Think of it as two 1280x1080 monitors shoved into one. Nice and wide to be able to put 3 documents side-by-side. Great for a work environment or maybe at home with people that like lots of things opened at once. Not really the best for watching movies, gaming, etc. This is the multi-taskers dream monitor. :) It would be crazy in Portrait orientation, but I doubt the stand supports that.

What about one on top of the other?? :) That would be fun!
