Not sure what they call it but let's say that I have 4 open applications and/or 2 Safari windows. On my new MBP I can with 4 fingers swipe downward to cascade all of the open window or swipe up to go to an open desktop. I love this feature and I hope that this mouse can/will do this.

Can the new Magic Mouse do the swipe motions that my new MBP does?

It sounds like you're talking about the 4 finger swipe for expose. I went into my local apple store to day and tried out a magic mouse, atm all it can do is scrolling and two finger swiping to go back and forward in safari and finder etc. perhaps they can enable some features via software updates.
Its a tad annoying as the mouse doesn't have the side buttons that used to do expose on the Mighty Mouse, but its still a very sleek bit of kit!
