My uncle says he stopped using his tablet after he got his note 3. He was also showing us his amazing battery life on his iPad, 1 day usage with 50 days standby. Hmm.

For some it has, for others it won't.

I still use my iPad mini even though I have an iPhone 6 plus. The point is YMMV.

Depends what you will do with a phablet. For me it cannot replace a tablet for videos/movies or most games. Much more appealing and submervise with a tablet.

Agreed.... It really comes down to what you use the device for. It varies for everyone. How you liking the IP6 + coming from the Lumia Icon?

I'd say not quite, it's a bit too compromised compared to an iPad. On the move however they're great.

do you still use your mini a lot though, or has the usage dropped off significantly since getting the 6+? Do you think you would be ok with just the 6+?

I ask b.c I have a nexus 7 and may get the nexus 6. If so, I would definitely retire my tablet.

It wouldn't for my purposes. I use my tablet to read books and magazines on while I'm at the gym, a Note 4 screen wouldn't be big enough to do that, I need a 10" screen for that (even after having LASIK).

I guess it depends on the size of your tablet. A 7" tablet and a 10" tablet are very different in size. I could definitely see owning both a 5.5" phone and a 10" tablet, but a 6" phone (nexus 6) and a 7" tablet (nexus 7) would probably be a waste.

Surely you have just answered your own thread question in your opening post. You have someone who has replaced their tablet with a phablet. Question resolved. Thread a little pointless from then out.

When I switched to a Note 2 it cut down my iPad usage by 85% or so.

I used to use my iPad for reading news every morning, in the kitchen for recipes and such, and some games. Also used it for some web browsing. Not too much for video unless I was traveling.

I still use my iPad for a few games, some video, and a few other things. But really I don't use it all that much, compared to pre-Note 2. This is full size iPad 3. Might use a mini more than that (though at this point probably will be an Android 7"-8" tablet that replaces my iPad).

As several others have noted, it depends on who it's for.

For me, no. I mainly got an ipad mini retina for reading pdf documents, and it excels at that. It's just big enough to do that comfortably, while still being very portable. I wouldn't want anything smaller, as pdf documents aren't easily reformatted for a smaller screen. On the other hand, since I carry my mini everywhere and use it for anything where screen size matters, I'm happy with my iphone 5s, and don't want a larger phone.

Well, FWIW, my iPhone 6+ has led me to retire my iPad rMini but not my iPad Air--still my go to device for quick browsing, email, light work, video, etc when I'm home. Just don't need to bring the iPad rMini with me when I leave the house any longer.

Most definitely yes, but not 100%. My Note 3 replaces my tablet 99% of the time unless I really need the big screen of my SP3, or if I'm home or at work. But if I have to travel anywhere I rarely bring my tablet anymore unless it's overnight.
