Subject: Can the stock Apple i/o PCIe card in the MP7,1 be use to drive a Thunderbolt display without having a graphics card installed ?

Just wondering if this can be done wrt to a rack mounted MP7,1 ? Thanks... :)

No, it can't. There are no "integrated" GPUs in the Mac Pro. And in fact you have to have one of the Apple OEM GPUs installed to drive displays through the Thunderbolt ports.

So if the MP7,1 does have a graphics card installed can the stock Apple i/o PCIe card in the MP7,1 be use to drive a Thunderbolt display ?

I'm not sure how much more clear I can make this for you:

AS LONG AS IT'S AN MPX MODULE, THE THUNDERBOLT PORTS ARE LIT!

It doesn't matter which MPX module.
Fair enough.... Given that the Radeon Pro Vega II is an MPX module I understand. Thank you. 👍 :)
