Can the WiFi card from this iMac be used in my 1,1 Mac Pro?

I got a 2008, 24-inch iMac that has a fried GPU, so I figured I'd try and use some of its parts for something. I found a card inside of it that appears to be a WiFi/Bluetooth card...

Is this the same card that goes inside a 1,1 Mac Pro? It has a copyright date of 2006, so I figure it could have been originally featured in the 2006 Macs.

Why is it that there are two antenna connectors on the card? I noticed that two cables were plugged into it while it was in the iMac. Is this the same with the Mac Pro 1,1?

Also, I have heard that the stock Mac Pro 1,1 cards have had trouble with later operating systems that the 1,1 Mac Pro does not officially support. I'm running Mtn. Lion on mine and would like to try El Capitan when it's released... will the card work? I'm assuming so, since the 2008 iMacs obviously can run the latest version of Mac OSX, officially.

I'm wondering why some apparently had issues with this card in--for example--Yosemite.

666sheep just enlightened me to the fact that apparently the Atheros-based card I stuck in my 1,1 was the source of a lot of issues I was having in Mavericks. I actually originally bought this particular card for my Quad, but it didn't work there and I put it aside until I got the Mac Pro.

Atheros WiFi cards have an Apple p/n starting with "A" and Broadcom cards start with "B."

I ended up buying a Broadcom car for my Quad and it works fine in Tiger and Leopard. I have it installed via a mPCIe-PCIe adapter(~$10 from China) as the "official" Airport card for the Quad is still PCI based(the official AP/BT cards are cheap, but the going rate on the sled to mount them in a G5 is around $100).

BTW, all the mPCIe WiFi cards(Apple and other brands) I've seen have two antenna connectors. My 1,1 has two corresponding antenna wires for it.

First of all, it's a pleasure to hear again from one of my fellow PowerPC forums members! I am unaware if you remember, but I left MacRumors altogether in January or February, right after I had purchased my '46-dollar' PowerBook G4 12-inch.

I was originally planning on returning during the summer, but I felt that it would be good for me to continue holding off. My current presence here is on account of some questions I have had about my Mac Pro 1,1 (like this one here). Since then, I have made it my main desktop, sought-out tons of advice about a GPU upgrade for it (and settled on a flashed Radeon 5770), and have put Mountain Lion on it (with El Capitan coming in soon). Sometimes, I DO check out the PPC forum unannounced and see what has been posted; other times, I may check out some brand-new Apple news here and there. I also quit looking around Craigslist. While I have to admit that I have acquired a handful of great machines since then, none of them were hunted down or purchased--they sorta happened.

Thanks for your answer about the card. I checked and have confirmed that mine is a Broadcom card... so do you think that such a card would work fine in my Mac Pro 1,1 under Mountain Lion+ ?

Anyway, I am partially using the site again in order to ask for help, but I'm unsure as to whether or not I will ever re-join the PowerPC forums. Again, my ideal major has NOTHING to do with any of this stuff, so I'd better not let it all blur my vision. Tell the guys back at the PowerPC forum 'Hi' for me!
