Can the you record PC or Mac HDMI out?

i am looking into buying the Game capture HD http://www.gamecapture.com and was wondering if i can capture the HDMI output of my retina macbook pro and the HDMI on my 7970 in my PC? i realize some content like Netflix turns on HDCP but for games it should work correct?
