I want to be able to put jpeg exports I made with Lightroom so that they will show within iOS Photos app via Photo stream. This was possible from Windows before the iCloud Drive, but not so with Mac. Wondering if this would be possible with iCloud Drive change.

You can throw anything you want in iCloud drive but for integration within your iOS photos app, you will need to wait till the new photos app for mac is released.

I'm still baffled why Apple doesn't have Photos ready to go for both platforms. It's pretty much useless to me until both OS X and iOS 8 versions are ready.

I'll guess I'll use it for photos I take when I get my 6+, but there's still no word how to get my current set of photos (going back to 2008) that I have on my desktop Mac to take advantage of the Photos app.

I guess we have to wait until 2015 for it to launch, but again, still no clear date on when exactly that is.

This forces me to keep managing my current photos the way that I am, AND managing my iOS 8 photos differently until the Mac version is out.

Thanks Apple. :(
