Can we Instal Linux: Fedora Core 3,4 into PB G4 ???

Here is the download page for Fedora Core 4 on PPC (as in G3, G4, G5).
But I would not recommend Fedora Core. You might want to try something like Ubuntu (GNOME), or if you prefer KDE, try Kubuntu, Ubuntu's sister project.
Also, why would you need Fedora or Linux in general?

I am experimenting with Fedora Linux with my old Compaq Presario Notebook. All of Macs are running so well and I don't want to mess with success. If I were you, I would rather use cheaper PC than PB.
I don't see how any OS could affect your hardware permanently... Worse comes to worse just wipe the drive!

hey! thanks for the message. I want fedora (not sure..may be some other linux whichever can give me to work on Latex, ..) but any one with Latex can work. I know ther e is WinTex (Latex for Windows) for Windows OS too but I dont prefer that. I need this for mathematical writting. I dont know if Mac OS oriinally gives provide this utility.

hey, i need this for certain purpose. i know that many notebooks support the many version (fedora: 1,2,3,4; red hat, yellow dog, Debian and many) but i just was interested to see if PB support this.
I have found a site where there r lot many info is given whether or not linuxcan be installed to notebook. I saw in my Insti that Mac PC runs is beutifully but whether PB is compatible for that or not , i was interested to know. As i said for my work, i m not too interested with fedora, I guess the some which i fund, can be installed, are good for my work. Yellow dog has the all which i need and so the debian too.

If all you want Linux for is because of some F/OSS apps you might want to check out DarwinPorts, no one here has actually pointed out that a heap of Mac hardware just isn't supported under Linux. I've tried a few Linuxes on my Power Mac G5 and Ubuntu on my PowerBook, none of them worked as well as using OS X and DarwinPorts with Apples own X11.
Another BSD like ports system you can use with OS X is Fink. Check them both out you probably don't even need to install Linux.

I tried a Ubuntu Live DVD on my PB, and I wasn't all that impressed. Granted, it's better than Windows in most areas (GUI is not one of them). Also, it made my fans run constantly, and also put them up to full speed when the temp raised.
