Title says it all. Note, I'm not asking if the iPad can hook up to an external display. I'm asking if the iPad can now function as an external monitor for a MacBook Pro via its new USB-C port (without relying on software solutions such as Duet Display). Does anyone happen to know?

Apple hasn't even bothered to bring back Target Display Mode on the iMacs. It's extremely unlikely the iPad Pro will ever support this.
