I play wow, i visit wow websites and I download various addons for wow.

What kind of concerns are there in terms of picking up a keylogger?

For instance, I had troubles with my WoW crashing so I decided to do a full reinstall.

While updating to the current version, the final patch was corrupted and not working, so I tried downloading the patch from websites outside of blizzard.

Is it possible that a keylog could have been stored in one of the patches I tried?

Do Macs have ANY issues where keylogging is involved?

Is there a list of known websites or addons that are believed to contain malicious software that can affect a mac?

theres a post already in existence on this. however im too laxy to find it. browse forum spy

it got moved so i reworded the title and added more issues on my mind to keep it in apple games section...

i don't care at all about keyloggers outside the world of apple gaming.

edit:

is it possible to pickup a keylogger by visiting a gold sales website?

has anyone ever heard of an addon maliciously affecting a mac running wow?

can you get keylogged by visiting a link off the wow forums while running on a mac?

Precaution is always the best,

To answer your question, so far those keylogging websites, I have seen, make elaborate use of exploits in the browser specifically IE. If there's no good reason for you to visit a suspicious site, just don't go there, as simple as that. Practice caution at all times.

For addons, there's no reason for you to use an addon that requires installation, it is just bad sense to do that.

For patches, it might be possible, the intruder could have easily wrapped something on top of the official patch and sent it out, so do not download from anywhere that is not verified. There are still some good sites that provide patches as an offsite.
