I downloaded and installed the xvid for mac codec and I still get a black screen when I try to play an xvid video. Any ideas?

That might mean something as well. So anything with the proper Quicktime codecs will play in Front Row?milo said:Just tried it, works fine. You just need need the universal version of the xvid codec.

Yep. Frontrow just uses quicktime for movies, itunes for audio, iphoto for picture slideshows. Pretty simple integration.Eidorian said:That might mean something as well. So anything with the proper Quicktime codecs will play in Front Row?
Ah, I thought it was limited to basic Quicktime support and not plugins as well.jimsowden said:Yep. Frontrow just uses quicktime for movies, itunes for audio, iphoto for picture slideshows. Pretty simple integration.

to be picky, iTunes, iPhoto, QuickTime, Front Row and all those great apps are probably QTKit based..just, separate so the user doesn't have to deal with photo editing if all they want to do is listen to a few MP3s.Democrat622 said:itunes is acttually quicktme with more features and a different GUI
iphoto is driven by preview in the same way as qt driven itunes
front row is just another step off of iphoto and itunes.
