Can I block a contact from texting me, but not calling me? I don’t want to mute them or anything. I don’t want to see their messages AT ALL. But I need them to be able to call me if necessary. All the info I found online was from years ago and I know things are constantly evolving.

For the curious, this is a coworker who is constantly texting useless nonsense ALL DAY LONG. Work doesn’t pay for my phone, so I don’t have to keep getting their crap messages all day long, but they do need to be able to reach me by phone, of which they will bother me considerably less.

lol - I'm sorry to hear that but that is funny because I think we all have coworkers like that. No, I don't believe there is a text-block only. Are they SMS texting or is it iMessage?

Workaround - have them only call you on Teams/Slack?

You can mute them in Messages. The texts will still come through, but you won’t get a notification.
