I currently have my MobileMe account as my iTunes account, will this be changed when iCloud comes out or will it stay @me.com?

Can you change your MobileMe account to an iCloud one?

No, not really. You can download iCloud and install it. However, MobileMe accounts can't be transferred to iCloud as of yet. You can move some of your data (calendars, contacts, Find My iPhone, etc) from an old MM account to a new iCloud account, but not the actual username. When iCloud is officially released MM users will be able to transition.
Yes, unfortunately, this is true. In my opinion, @me.com sounds kind of dumb. I guess it's better than being like every other bloke who has a gmail or yahoo account.
Personally I much prefer @me to @gmail, @hotmail etc. Struggle to see why some people hate it so vehemently.

I don't hate the @me.com address. Similar to you, I prefer it to other addresses. It just doesn't make much sense to me that Apple is keeping me.com addresses when this isn't MobileMe anymore. iCloud is a completely different service.
if iCloud is free, what's the incentive to stay with mobile me anyway?
My wife's mobile me account renewed in march, paying the annual fee, she only uses it for email and address book sync, seems unfair to charge a full year if this service will now be free.

Once your MobileMe subscription is over, you automatically subscribe to iCloud. It should be pretty seamless.
Should be able to migrate this me.com account over to iCloud when it launches and get a pro-rata refund for unused time, or continue with it up to June and then migrate.
Only charged services mentioned so far are iTunes Match and increasing storage space (although there's not a lot you can do with it at the moment)

This is not an attack......just my own observations:
Personally, I still believe that @me sounds far nicer than some of the childish email domains out there these days. Do you actually prefer something like: GoogleMail, Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, Ymail, Rocketmail, Fastmail, and so many other poorly chosen names being circulated today. Maybe having a short name like @ME, will be easier for the dumb-masses to remember.
I have been using Apple branded mail and web services for 8+ years now, with several different usernames with both @mac & @me. I really don't see the hype of having the @mac domain either other than the fact that it is easy to remember and short, otherwise it seems like it's purely vanity based. Your email is not required to match your computer equipment, unless you want it that way, I only went with the @mac since the service was well integrated into the Mac OS. I feel that my life is too complicated as-is, much less to be overly consumed with how people feel about my choice of email domains.
I have only had a handful voice their opinions about my choice of email addresses, with comments like: what does @me stand for?; how did you decide on that email name?; and other dumb comments. I simply tell them, well first of all.....I pay for my email account therefore it is not up for others to bitch about; second, I still think that mobileme is a more intelligent web solution than someone using a service like Google or Yahoo just because its free. If you truly enjoy those services then more power to you, but if you are doing so only because of the name issue then you are missing the point. We are way too dependent nowadays on electronics as it is, so if we can find a web service like mobileME that we can combine so many useful services into a well integrated package, then we are really lucky to cover so many aspects of what we do online.
I don't believe in using something purely because its free, I would rather pay for the services that I use vs expecting everything being given to me for free. That is just my own personal opinion on the subject to use MobileME or not.

Because iCloud lacks some of the features of MobileMe, and even though if offers some that aren't, it's not clearly an "upgrade".
It's new and different, therefore only time will tell. In addition it also depends on each individuals preferences as to it's value to them. Especially since our needs vary so widely, some may have no use for it at all.
There are many questions I have which will only be answered once iCloud is put into service for everyone to use. Only then will we be able to fairly evaluate it.
Absolutely agree. MobileMe was worth (to me) paying for and I'm apprehensive about a totally free iCloud - would rather see a tiered service. Will be interesting to see how many of the previous freeloading posters transition from google/dropbox etc to iCloud now it's free and start singing its praises.
