can you color code the contact letters

i was wondering if there was any way that you can make the sorting letters in the contact list color coded because it is hard for me to read them quickly
ex:
A (colored)
Amanda
B (colored)
Bobby
Ben
C (colored)
D (colored)
Devon

etc...
