Hi guys,
I am a college student looking to purchase an apple laptop, prob. a macbook. My college provides the normal student discount, and currently, apple is also offering a free ipod nano with purchase. I also have a friend who works at apple, and said I could use his employee "friend" discount (I believe it's about 15%). My question is if I can combine these discounts, or use his and still get the iPod nano (my mom's was just stolen and she doesnt have the money to get a new one so I would really like to do this!). If the offers cannot be combined as I would suspect, does anyone know which one is worth more ?

Thanks :)

You can use the educational discount and get the free iPod; actually, the free iPod offer is only valid when you use the educational discount.

However, you cannot combine the educational and employee discounts (and cannot get the free iPod with the employee discount). I am afraid you will have to choose.

Yeah, no combining. Go check out the iPod sale terms and conditions. My advice is to find out if the extra 5% off your computer is more than $200. If it is, then go with your friend. If not, go for the iPod.
