iPad Pro Can you fix a 10.5" iPad pro Home Button.....

I have a 10.5" Ipad pro and the the home button seems to be stuck and not working. the touch ID functions fine, the button is just stuck. Its an LTE model and has a lot of storage, so its on the expensive side to replace. Also all my other devices use a 1st gen pencil, so for what I use it for, I like this IPP.

I was just wondering if this is something apple can fix?

I already added a virtual home button so it works, but its bugging me that the home button doesn't work. Any suggestions?

Whenever it comes to ‘repairing’ iPads, because they’re glued shut it’s an automatic replacement. My question for you is, how is the battery life? Battery service costs $99 and you get a whole new device, that is if the battery is below 80% health. Otherwise out of warranty repair is $449 on that model. You’d be better off selling it for parts and buying another 10.5” Pro at that point.

Whenever my iPhone SE develops a creaky home button I just grab some isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab which fixes it. Might work for you as well if you’re able to somehow get it to click. I think dust builds up and gets through some of the cracks and over time we get issues.

Yeah, maybe buy a refurbished 2018 iPad Pro from Swappa. They usually have good deals.

Just an update, cleaning the home button with alcohol didn't help. I guess ll keep an eye open for a 11" IPP.

As much as I am used to the touch ID button, its kind of phased out this point. Maybe I'll look into trading in this IPP now and getting something for it, just have to look for a deal on a newer model.

You saved my iPad Mini 5. Thank you. Funny how that little dude becomes such a big part of my life. I was apprehensive to take alcohol to the button. I was encouraged by your post.

I resurrected the home button on my 10.5” using the aforementioned cleaning method using isopropyl alcohol. It took a bit of patience. However, now that I have an 11”, I don’t miss the home button in the least. Good luck.
