Hello!
I am far from being pro in graphic design and I am making the main page of my website.
I have some pictures, some borrowed from the internet, all png, and I need to make them all the same colour and change the size.
when I do so, the images become blurred and "pixelized" - is there anything I can do - convert the png s to something else or any other trick to obtain the effect without having those blurred pics?
I am using Fireworks but I must have photoshop somewhere... (any other program, we find on the internet)

thanks for suggestions!

If you are trying ti make picutres bigger than they are thats why they become pixelated and theres nothing really you can do about it

First of all, do you have permission to "borrow" the photos from the Internet from whomever took them? If you don't then you are commiting copyright infringement.

If you have permission then please post the dimensions of the images and tell us what you need them to be.

If you increase the size of the images, the pixels be more noticeable.
The reason the pictures lack detail (blurred) when you scale them up is because there is not enough detail in the original images. Using oversized images is a better approach.

istockphoto.com is good resource for royalty-free high quality images, and the cost is very minimal.

hey! actually I am trying to make the pictures smaller... and of the same colour..
after using the "scale" option in fireworks they get the blur

the images belong all to the same author, I am asking his permission and have a link to his site on my main page...no stealing for a main page ;-)
actual size is 48 px I need them 24 or so - I d like to know why does the blur happens even when I make them smaller and if I can avoid it

cheers

Photoshop is probably the best application for this, since it has some advanced interpolation options in the image scale dialog.
