Pet Peeve.

years ago when i had a pc, it was so nice to be able to put caps lock on and then shift down (useful when filling out forms etc.)

EX: caps lock ON and you want to type McMURRAY or something like that.

if caps lock is on, you have to un-cap to type one letter and then re-cap to finish.

I want the shift key to SHIFT CASE whether it be up or down.

is there a way to do that? or is it something really simple i've been overlooking for years? i've looked at a couple keyboard mapping apps, but i can't find one to solve this issue.

Sorry, but I've never heard of any way to invert the Shift key functionality when caps lock is on.

Actually it's a pet peeve of mine also - except regarding the PC behavior. Years and years of time spent as a developer on PC (like back to DOS era through latest dev environment for Windows) and it would drive me crazy when the caps lock was on and I hit the Shift key - INVERTING the functionality of Shift - creating lower-case. One of the dumbest and least intuitive things I ever saw a PC do. Bad enough for normal typing, but when coding most naming is done with leading caps(no spaces, like: "PleaseFixTheShiftLock").

(the dumbest being the error BIOS gives when a keyboard is disconnected "Keyboard not found. Press any key to continue.")
