can you modify something inside an app?

Hey guys, first things first, thank you so much for your help in other circumstances i've learnt a lot and that's why i got to having this question.
I've been checking my files with iFile and iPhone Browser, and i wanted to know if it was possible to change something inside an appstore app. I've already changed the icon with winterboard but I want to change the picture it displays when i use the app.
It's a one click call app, i want to change the default.png for a picture of my girlfriend by naming as default.png.
Can that be done or will it brick the app?

Can you get to the Default.png

I think iPhone puts all those apps in folders with long names (random number & letter combinations)

Substitute your png (same pixel size for default png) and try it. Save a copy of the default png.

Yes i spent almost 10 minutes looking for it but i bookmarked it

Question, should it be better if i modify the picture with paint (windows 7 user) and pasted my girlfriends picture on top of the old one?

Can't honestly tell you as you are the 1st person I recall trying this.

Like I said, I think it needs to be the same pixel size.

If you are using paint, paste your gf's pic and then crop it so the canvas is square. Since you need a 45x45 image, take 45 and divide it by whatever size pic you have after cropping. If your pic is 180x180, you get 45/180=25% Go to Image->Stretch/Skew and put 25 in the Horizontal and Vertical Stretch fields. Now you can Save As... default.png and paste it in the .app folder. Rename the original app icon beforehand if you want to save it.

I'm almost postive that will work. I've done that with the default icons to change them because I don't want to run winterboard to change a couple icons.

I copied the icons from Weather and Stocks to my WeatherBug and Bloomburg apps All done via SSH and whatnot. I did it once with iFile too.

I noticed a problem when I had an app update though once. If you encounter the same problems, you'll need to remove the app and then go through all those folders and remove any copies manually as well.

Of course, that's if you have trouble updating.

Hi guys, thank you for your help, finall I founded a button on paint that allowed you to select the size of the picture in pixels, then I pasted mine over the original and replaced it inside the iphone whit iPhone Browser, worked like a charm.

That's good to know, although I doubt I ever get serious enough to do it, but still good to know.

Got a question. I am believing this is a one click phone dialer app.

Under 3.0, does it dial straight thru or do you get a screen like this and have to hit the call button ?
