As the title suggests. Can I move photos - say for example, I have saved photos from online of cars - I don't want them mixed in my photos library on iCloud so I tried to put them on iCloud Drive.

On iOS 10, I can't find a way to move them from Photos to iCloud Drive.

With the new Files app, can I pull photos from my iCloud Photo Library into a folder inside my iCloud Drive?

Thanks to anyone who can help.

This would eliminate need for using a PC / Mac so I'd be very happy if I could cut it out when iOS 11 is released

Just create an album in the Photos app, and add all those photos to the album.

Then select the photos and Hide them. They won't show up in your Moments timeline anymore, but you can get to them in the album.

I do this with stuff I download from the Internet all the time because I don't want memes and other stuff that isn't photos I took appearing in Moments.

Yes, it’s easy. Anything you can drag and drop works here. I’ve tried something similar to your case.

That's so awesome, thanks for confirming it!

I've been working like a machine, moving one at a time oniOS 10 lol

I can confirm that this works. You can multi-select in Photos and drag and drop right into iCloud/Files app. Neat.

I've never been more excited for an iOS than 11...

Not since iOS 4 .. where I got so excited for multitasking but in fact.. owned an iPhone 3G.. Hopefully no disappointments like that! This time, I'm reading into it!

I was actually really surprised when I tried it. Not so much that it worked at all, but with the fluidity, naturalness and speed. I agree with you, it is exciting and I'm looking forward to the other cloud storage providers really plugging into Files app so I can leverage this even more.

So in the beta will it continue to lack other cloud services or are like Microsoft and Dropbox working on the betas too to get it working before public release?

They're listed on the left now but they're still the same popovers with custom app controls etc. They look different, they don't understand drag and drop etc. From watching some WWDC videos it seems that developers will have to use some new APIs to work properly in the Files app. I'm sure they will, at least the usual Box/DropBox/MS OneDrive suspects.

That's really great [that it's coming]

Though I must admit, iCloud has always done all my iOS workload fine but this will hopefully bring it up and beyond some of the third party ones that have had more flexibility until now
