I had a problem with my week-old AirPod Pros and went to an Apple Store to see my options. They will not replace a single AirPod. They will attempt a repair when possible, but replacing the pair is the only other option. No single unit sales.
I had my new AirPod Pros in the outside pocket of my safety vest. The pockets are loose but its not a problem with my normal activity. This time, however, I had to move a couple of contractor's delivery vans. Pull one out of its normal spot and move it to unload, then put a different van in that spot. These vans are not made for access from the driver's door but it was the only way to access the first one as the passenger side door was blocked. Getting in was a lot like advanced Yoga, but I did it. As I got out of the second van, now in the original spot of the first van, I noticed an AirPod Pro case on the ground and thought, "What kind of idiot leaves these lying around? And look, they've been run over! Ha, what a dope!!"
Immediately I got a cold feeling in my stomach. You know -- that instant when doubt begins to turn into realization. Yup, a quick check of my pockets followed by a frantic re-check of said pockets confirmed my fears. I was the idiot.
