I'm looking for an inexpensive, durable and SIMPLE remote for the kids playroom.

Two 8 year olds and a 2 year old. My boys is 2 and likes to throw things. :)

I have a TV, aTV, DVD player and a Wii hooked up to it.

Thanks for any advice.

I could also use one for the bedroom to control the TV, cable box and aTV, but again simple or my wife will not use it.

Thanks

I was going to say logitech Harmony, but with kids probably not a good idea. I am not sure if other learning remotes will work with ATV. Stop by Best Buy and look at the remote selection. That way you can try it and if it doesn't work you can return it.

Again, I think you will need a learning remote as ATV is probably not on the device lists for the cheaper ones.

It probably doesn't need to be that simple. The kids can work the TIVO just fine. I would like to have a remote that can program so that when they want to watch TV they only press 1 button and it makes all the changes for them.

i.e. Turns on TV, changes to correct input, turns on device

Does that make sense?

My friend, the only remote that I recommend then is Harmony by Logitech. You should be able to find a used one on eBay pretty cheap or even an old model on eBay new pretty cheap.

I cannot recommend anything else or I would be telling you a lie.

The Harmony remotes do all this as long as all your devices have IR on them (i.e. Playstation 3 does not work as it is Bluetooth).

I have an old, warhorse of a Marantz programmable, learning remote. When I say old, I mean it's older than some of the posters on this site. ;)

Any remote that can learn IR codes will work just fine.
