If there are subtitles in the film, you can activate them by pressing and holding the center button (number five: http://km.support.apple.com/library/APPLE/APPLECARE_ALLGEOS/HT3176/HT3176_4----en.png) for a second or two, then a menu will pop up where you can choose between the available subtitles. No, English isn't the only language available. You have the choice between a lot of different languages when it comes to subtitles, et en plus il y a plein de films doublés.
