Can you set a default Alert in Calendar?

So that when you make a new event it will automatically set up an alert or two to remind you (as you choose, in settings, before hand).

Really makes the appointment making process more frustrating and time consuming, especially when I always set it to 1 Day Before and 1 Hour Before.

Settings->Mail,Contacts,Calendars->Default Alert Times

I don't see 1 day, 1 hour as an option though.
