I tried to dig some info for this question, but failed. It seems very natural to me that an option to share some of your photos should come along with this wonderful photo stream. Is this really NOT possible? Can someone tell me? THanks.

No.
Disable Photo Stream; it's completely utterly useless.

Oh no. No share? I can't believe they actually did that. I mean the server need to sync this photos to diff devices anyway. Why can they just be nice and allow sharing? I start to appreciate my MobileMe.

Because sharing would defeat the purpose of iCloud. iCloud is for syncing and syncing only.
And no, the server does not sync photos; it uploads the pictures into the cloud, and keeps them there without an easy way to get rid of them. But it syncs everything else like how you would expect it to.

Well, it is fine that they decided iCloud is for syncing purpose strictly. BUT they should at least come up with a solution for sharing.
